I have been a grande latte girl as of late, but when the Starbucks barista convinced me to try this new drink – I was not disappointed. The Flat White was added to the Starbucks menu yesterday. This drink is stronger than my usual latte but has a more velvety, luxe finish. My usual grande may have turned to a tall, because I swear this cup of joe lasts forever….in the best way. Go gettcha some! xx
“Remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. If you want to take responsibility for your life, you must choose one of these three options, and you must choose now. Then accept the consequences. No excuses. No negativity. No psychic pollution. Keep your inner space clear.” – Eckart Tolle
Whenever I feel myself going down that slippery slope of negativity – I swiftly find this E. Tolle quote that I have had saved in my drafts for just over a year now. I didn’t realize that I had made this into a positivity-shield-ritual until tonight while trying to write a draft for cathclaire.com in my newfound promise of blogging consistently. As I was shifting through drafts I had saved, I noticed that this quote calms me down faster than a glass of wine and a Britney Spears song. What do you guys think of it? If it resonates with you as much as it does me, check out his books “The Power of Now” & “A New Earth.”
Angelina and Brad’s recent nuptials in an ever fabulous fashion – secretly & in France – inspired me to re read the Elle cover story from June. As I was reading, I couldn’t help but think how much I truly admire the way Angelina speaks about her relationship with Brad. To reiterate what Angelina said in the page above: It is extremely rare; rare in Hollywood as most would say, but rare for people in general if you ask me. I think their love is something to be emulated.
On a lighter note and while we are on the subject of things I admire, lets go ahead and mention the flawless way Hedi Slimane, creative director at YSL, photographed Angelina for this shoot. Very real, very Angelina, and very I want to hang these photographs all over my room.

A day in the life | Me, my new house, & The World According to Karl.
Here is the first picture from operation balance what I think I know about feng shui with my usual decor in new bedroom. Not such an easy feat – but here is what I’ve gotten so far…
Well, first things first: I went to Whole Foods, purchased some lavender infused sage, and burned the crap out of it throughout my entire room screaming “begone bad energy” or something along those lines. Then, I made a point to have my bed face west & away from the direct line of the door. A quick google on my iPhone said this is supposed to help with contentment and I’m no expert, but it sounded good enough for me. I also included one of my favorite things, a Himalayan Salt lamp (which puts out the most soothing light ever & eats up those bad positive ions in the air), on top of one of my other favorite things, my jade elephant makeshift bed stand. I’m convinced my life is exponentially better when there is an elephant & a salt lamp in every room. So far this has proven to be true.
If any of you have tips or questions about operation balance what I think I know about feng shui with my usual decor in new bedroom, I would love to hear them. I hope you like my happy corner!
Until next time,
